6 Similarity Between Online Education vs Traditional Education

by Online Education Specialist · 6 comments

A lot of peoples of today’s educational worlds find a similarity between the online education and traditional education and some others find the both is totally alternatives each other.

But I think there are a lot of things that are similar on both and we should consider these.

Some traditional things is to be maintained in online education center in the traditional way and I will focus on some topics about it here : -

1. Assignments: Do you know about the assignment? Yeah! In today’s world assignment is the best way to express owns work. You must have to submit assignment whether you are a student of online education college or traditional college. And the similarity I have found between online college’s education & traditional college is you may have to submit the assignment by using email to your teachers to evaluate.

2. Virtual Black Board: In traditional learning the teacher write the topics name and other discussions on the black or white board; whereas the online college’s teacher express his class or discussion on the bulletin board or related forums. So expressing is occurred on the both way.

3. Class Time Scheduling: The traditional campus based college classes are taken in a schedule time. If you see the online education program you will see that the class time is also scheduled for the students worldwide.
Similarity on Online Education vs Traditional Educaition
4. Books or Paper Factors: Are you thinking that if I get myself admitted in a online institutions I wont have to read any paper back books, it will be wrong. You must have to read the paper books or e-books that will be given by the teachers as a reference book. So there is no huge difference I have found between online education and traditional education.

5. Results of Examination: In traditional education system we observe that; after finishing an examination the result is published and is hung on the notice board saying that who have passed or who is failed. In online education the same things are occurred. The online examination results are also be published on the online institutions respective website’s notice page or forum pages. So that the students can easily know that the desired results.

6. Teacher Students Interaction: In both of the education platform (Traditional Education System & Online Education System) the teachers and students can have a friendly interaction by the respective IM chat room or phone calls. So in this matter; if someone thinks that the online institution’s teachers stay far away from the students; it won’t be a good concept I think.

If you’ve thought about continuing your education there are many great online doctoral degrees available from accredited universities.

That’s all of the difference and similarities I have found from the online education and traditional education.

Best Institute

Getting quality teaching with an online degree means that you need to research each institute carefully. Talk to other students, if possible. Look at several schools offering both traditional programs and online degree programs. It doesn’t hurt to check out class size either. Try to find class sizes that are small and thus offer you the possibility of individual attention. Check into how the institute can help you……………….

I know what you’re saying because I started a year ago researching colleges and universities to return to school with. I needed an online institution and finally found Ashford University. They begin their classes on Tuesdays, instead of Monday and it’s the best idea any online course has come up with. The format of the classes is the same throughout and you learn quickly which assignments are due and when you have to submit them.

If the college or university you are looking at is accredited, then you are okay for attending. That’s the hard part and I found that my best way of deciding whether or not they are accredited is to fill out the FAFSA ( you have to do this anyway) and if the school is on it, then it’s accredited, at least according to our government.

Good Luck To “Dan” and You if you’re still looking.

Great points! Although you focused a lot on college degrees online, I found much of your information to apply to online degrees for K-12 as well. The only difference I found with what you have said and an online school that I am familiar with, Forest Trail Academy, is the class timing. One of the nice things about Forest Trail Academy is that students can do coursework at anytime, whatever works best for them. We believe, “Anytime, any place at a student’s own pace!”

Excellent article. Most of us don’t realize that at the end of the day, traditional classroom education and online education is inherently similar and hence, the similarities. Online education can truly democratize education and make it available to the millions of people who cant afford traditional education.

This is the very nice article.I think, Online courses typically allow students to work asynchronously, which means that they can complete their coursework at the time and place of their choosing. This is often ideal for working students or single parents who need a flexible schedule. However, students who struggle to be self-motivated may find that they quickly fall behind. Thanks for nice posting.
